About Anirvedha

Mental Health is Everyone’s Concern.

Mental health touches every stage of life.

The challenges may look different – a child navigating development, an adolescent finding their identity, a young adult facing academic or career pressures, a parent managing family responsibilities, a professional experiencing burnout, or an older adult navigating life transition.

At Anirvedha, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to understand themselves, seek support and live a psychologically healthier life.

Our approach brings together psychological care, education, prevention, intervention and community engagement to address mental health in a comprehensive and meaningful way.

We work with individuals, families, educational institutions, organizations and communities, creating spaces where people can talk, learn, heal and grow.

OUR STORY

From an Idea to a Community of Care

Anirvedha was founded by Dr. K.T. Shwetha with a simple but powerful belief, mental health care should not be a privilege available only to those who can overcome geographical, financial or social barriers.

Inspired by the vision of bringing mental health services closer to people’s doorsteps, Anirvedha was envisioned as a bridge between mental health professionals and communities in need.

Over the years, this vision has evolved into a multidisciplinary centre providing assessment, therapy, intervention, training, awareness and community outreach.

Today, Anirvedha has supported more than 10,000 children, young people, adults and families, while continuing to build partnerships with schools, colleges, professionals and community organizations.

Our journey continues with the same fundamental belief:
Every person deserves access to care that sees the whole person – not just the problem.

OUR VISION

A society where mental health is a daily priority, free from stigma and barriers, with accessible care for all.

We envision a society where mental health is recognised as an essential component of overall well-being, where conversations about mental health are normalised, and where every individual has equitable access to quality psychological care.

OUR MISSION

  • To provide accessible, ethical and evidence-informed mental health services.
  • To promote psychological well-being across the lifespan.
  • To increase awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health.
  • To support individuals and families through different stages and challenges of life.
  • To strengthen mental health systems within schools, colleges, workplaces and communities.
  • To empower professionals, educators, families and communities through training and education.
  • To advocate for a more inclusive and mentally healthy society.

WHAT WE DO

support for students with special educational needs

Our work is built around six key areas:

Building foundations for lifelong well-being.
Our Early Intervention services support children with developmental, behavioural, communication and learning needs through individualised intervention and multidisciplinary support.

Our approach includes:

  • Individualised developmental goals
  • Behavioural intervention
  • Communication and social skills
  • Daily living and self-care skills
  • Parent training
  • Regular assessment and review
  • Multidisciplinary support

We believe that early support can create meaningful opportunities for development, independence and participation.

Empowering Education through NIOS (Class X & XII)

Every student deserves an education tailored to their unique strengths. At Anirvedha, we offer dedicated academic and remedial support for students with special educational needs who are pursuing Class X and XII through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

An educational board under the Ministry of Education, NIOS provides a flexible alternative for students for whom mainstream schooling isn’t the right fit. Since launching our NIOS program in 2019, our goal has been clear: create meaningful pathways for continued education and long-term independence.

COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH

Taking Mental Health Where It Is Needed Most
Because mental health care should not depend on where you live, what you earn, or whether a service is available nearby.

At Anirvedha, community mental health is not an extension of our work — it is at the heart of who we are.

We believe that psychological support should reach people where they live, study and work, particularly communities where professional mental health services remain difficult to access.

Our community initiatives are designed around three principles:

  • Reach
  •  Educate
  •  Empower
